Philosophers

General Introduction

A long time ago, before the advent of the personal computer, I thought it would be a good idea to write a series of comments on philosophical books more or less as this was done in the Middle Ages or in the Torah.

These days such comments are possible on a personal computer in the form of hypertext, which makes the making and reading of comments to texts different from what it must be in books, while it has the additional benefit that the result can be put on the internet.

At present there are the texts by and on the philosophers in the left pane on this site - more than 25 authors, not counting myself, with around 50 texts now (depending how one counts), mostly with my detailed comments, that usually are at least as long as the text they comment, and are independently readable.

Since my Philosophical Dictionary now has over 600 entries extending over some 20 MB, I am updating my philosophy pages with links to the terms in the Philosophical Dictionary.

Also, it may be well to add the names of some philosophers some of whose texts I would like to add to my site with my comments - where meanwhile the linked authors and texts have been added:

To what extent and when I will succeed doing this will depend on my health.
