 P - Parameter

Parameter: Some condition that is supposed to be relevant to something X that is supposed to be a constant of some kind.

Normally, a parameter or parameters for X involve the assumption that what is involved is supposed or known to be of some specific kind. In statistics, it often involves the assumption, sometimes backed up by evidence, that the population that is investigated satisfies a certain kind of statistical distribution.
