Hello Suzy,

At long last A Scientific Diagnosis of me also! ... Thanks!

ALL my family had it, through the generations also, so I suppose it is genetical, especially as I have seen many cases in my generation of the Phony Oppositional Defiant Disorder, that consists of quasi-revolutionary making a career in the system you say publicly, over and again you defy and despise: Daniel Cohn-Bendit, Joschka Fischer, and virtually everyone my age in Holland who studied and made a career.

The disease - proper, serious Oppositional Defiant Disorder - also struck others. Here is a VERY bad case, also explaining the mechanism behind it, alas in French:

"Presque tous les hommes sont esclaves, par la raison que les Spartiates donnaient de la servitude des Perses, faute de savoir prononcer la syllabe non. Savoir prononcer ce mot et savoir vivre seul sont les deux seuls moyens de conserver sa liberté et son charactère."

(*)

'twould seem to me, Suzy, that we suffer from the same disease..

Maarten.

(*) Translation (pour tous les copains Flamands):

"Almost all men are slaves, for the reason the Spartans gave for the servitude to the Persians, not to be able to pronounce the syllable no. Knowing how to pronounce this word and live by oneself are the only to means to preserve one's liberty and one's character."
