To answer your (large and sensible) question briefly:
In general terms: Real science and the rule of just law - a civilized society. But I (would) agree both science and the law are to some extent perverted and malpracticed.
On a more personal level: Rational argument, satire and the proof that one's own practice of life is fair. And if possible avoid such people and curtail their power over others.
