Hello Julius,

To answer your (large and sensible) question briefly:

In general terms: Real science and the rule of just law - a civilized society. But I (would) agree both science and the law are to some extent perverted and malpracticed.

On a more personal level: Rational argument, satire and the proof that one's own practice of life is fair. And if possible avoid such people and curtail their power over others.

And three kinds of answers to your questions I personally like and have on my site are these:

Etienne de la Boétie: Discourse on Voluntary Servitude
-- http://www.constitution.org/la_boetie/serv_vol.htm

Bernard Mandeville: The Fable of the Bees
-- http://www.maartensz.org/philosophy/...e_of_bees.html

Jonathan Swift: A voyage to the country of the houyhnhnms
-- http://www.maartensz.org/philosophy/...ftTravelIV.htm

General warning: Strong stuff, not for the faint of heart! It won't make you feel happier about men on average, but it will explain some.
