Multatuli's Minnebrieven on line + philosophy + personal

1. Minnebrieven
2. Philosophy
3. Personal

1. Minnebrieven

After three more days of Minnebrieven without Nederlog, a Nederlog with the message of the title: I have a 0-version of Minnebrieven on line, with a file for each page, and somewhat corrected but not done fully done yet.

There also is a problem with getting all of it displayed well in MS IE, especially around page 150, where the list of stolen buffaloes is displayed, using an - invisible - table, that is not rendered the same by different browsers. This needs sorting out, but must wait for the moment. ("It's a bug, not a feature!")

There are also some other parts that need some reformatting, but most has been done, which is pleasant, for me, since now I can start commenting, in Dutch, if and when I feel up to it.

2. Philosophy

Besides Multatuli I have updated the New-in-philosophy-on-the-site file, since I realized that I have added material of Bayle, Wittgenstein, Peirce, Hazlitt and Multatuli to the site the last two years, that was not yet explicitly mentioned in that file.

I did more for philosophy than I realized, I see, what with most of my attention on ME since 2 years.

3. Personal

Finally, I am relieved to mention that - at long last - the Amsterdam dole officials have decided that I am and will be too ill to work, that anyway I wouldn't find in Holland if I were not, so I have been relieved of the duty to apply for jobs (and other nonsense, of a GET-nature).

This may sound like common sense, justice, and fairness, to the more rationally inclined or capable, but then I have been in the dole since 1984, while I have been ill since 1.1.1979, so it did take some effort, patience and my site, among other things.

It's a considerable relief to me, since it means a lot less hassle with the municipal bureaucracy, at least about what they were pleased to call my social duties.

The Dutch reader who is familiar with Multatuli's Minnebrieven, may have noticed a parallel or two or three or .... - and indeed I mean to return to that when writing my comments.

P.S. Corrections, if any are necessary, have to be made later.
