ME + me : Sex, soccer, stupidity and saviours

I am still not well at all etc. as before and today it has been promised to be 36 degrees Celsius and yesterday there was the main reason why my family was in The Resistance in World War II, while Our Dutch Nation is fighting this very monent agains the vile Spanish.

1. Soccer and sex
2. Stupidity
3. Patient patient
4. Yet one more genius

P.S. The Lying ProcessTMpending cures everything

At this very moment I can hear my Proud Fellow Dutchmen go Ooowaaaaaaaaaaahhh, Ooooooooohhhhhh, Eeeeeooooouuuuuulllll and Olé, Olé, Olé, Olé for that's what We Proud Dutchman That Are Born Champions love to scream when supporting their very own sons of gods, as they like to call them fondly.

1. Soccer and sex

So I translated a bit from what I wrote two years ago in Dutch:

There was an interesting article in today's National Business Paper (NRC Handelsblad) yesterday, on the sports pages, put in bold by the editors of the NRC, so that the fewest possible human beings miss it:

Soccer better than sex

MADRID, Jul 2. The yearly erotic filmfestival of Madrid this year suffered empty theaters, because of Spain's success in the European Championship (EC) soccer. The three day event only 15.000 visitors during the weekend. Last year over 50.000 visitors found their way to the movietheaters, the organizers said.
"Soccer belongs to the few things that can compete with sex", the director of the festival Juli Simon concluded with disappointment.
Pepe Catman, one of the filmdirectors in Madrid, even got into problems due to the dearth of visitors. He wanted to shoot the last scenes of a porn movie, but had to 'corrupt' people with 25 euros to get them into the cinema.

Most excellent, it would seen, for the trained psychologist or mathematician immediately sees all manner of sadly lost possibilities for rational empirical research in the social sciences, namely as involve equations, inequalites, and systems of (linear) equations, all focused on the established empirical laws of the true values of things, at least in the average male mind

(1) 1 times soccer = 3 1/3 times sex
(2) 0 < porn < soccer < porn + 25

"To measure is to know", methodologically trained psychosocial scientists know, and important and educational equations and inequalities as provided form the empirical base of all psychosocial research and theorizing.

Unfortunately, the establish mathematical relations have not been more thoroughly researched by filmdirector Pepe Catman, although undoubtedly he got the chance to do so:

Pepe: Hola, hola, senorita y senor! We from Cumshots De Espana - here is my card, 3F hologram with lingam and yoni included - have vaginal flashes and vulva parades for you by Britney, by Kate, and by the great and hip Dutch star Sophie Hillebrands; we have...
Senorita: Muchos gracias! We want to go to the football!
Pepe: Por amor de dios! Here is money, an unknown amount, that I want to offer to you and your senor....
Senor: Gracias, but we have filmed outselves already.
Have a nice...
Pepe: ...no, no, No, NO! I have very competent actors, but I need a public, senor y senorita, I am in search for a public that loves sex, that...
Senor y senorita (together): Not in Espana, not today and not this week either: The Fatherland is calling! We stand firm!
Pepe: Por favor! Please, I pray to you! Just for a moment! It is all free! No? Ten euros? Twentyfive euros? Fifty euros with close-ups of Kate's slit? OK: hundred euros with Kroof included - you remeber: He is from Barcelona, and He knows everything - in the swimming pool but without his Divine Dany, even if it is long ago? Not that either? Madre de Dios! Senor! Senorita! You are young! Twohundred euros plus never shown shots of Sophia Loren?
Senor y senorita (together):  Buenos dias, senor! We know our Spanish civic duty! Viva Espana!

So this was a lost opportunity, alas, which started me thinking - for I don't like watching soccer, unless it is women's soccer, just as I see very much more in women's volleyball, for example, even then the women themselves, it would seem - about the mystery why women's soccer isn't much more popular than it is.

For consider: It is very emancipating; it unites both genders (PC-terminology); undoubtedly it produces much nicer looking television than the sweating semi-divinites Van der Kerkhof, or whatever Our Backs are called these days; it will radically increase the average female income if Our Gals are paid Equivalently; Amsterdam's alderman Rob Oudkerk and mayor Job Cohen would very much, also without any personal profit motive, love to be Special Ambassador of Our Gals; and it would be so much more natural if our proud standing men dressed in orange wigs - the greatgrandchildren of Our Heroes Tromp and De Ruyter - in their orange trousers would get into a total orange orgiastic ecstasy, drooling at the mouth also, because they enjoy the sights of 11 fine Dutch gals who know how to play ball, in this modern emancipated era, because Our Gals mop the floor with the evil Kraut gals in full view of over a billion viewers - instead of seeing ugly fat men see grow orgiastic about male players, externally gifted like a Seedorf or Kekhof, fine soccer players as they are, undoubtedly.

Well... you get the idea, and there was (and is) more in Dutch: Sock it babes, sock it!

But alas not on todays TV.

Life is hard.

2. Stupidity

Besides... having spoken of this before, here is an apt image with full support of Vuvuzelas

It means: "Against stupidity even the Gods battle in vain." Friedrich Schiller wrote it, if not precisely in the same words, as you may find, but to the above salutory effect.

3. Patient patient

Not being remarkably stupid myself (when the weather is fair, and so on), I continue with being both hot and waiting as a patient patient for Dr. Alter's research on XMRV, that Mindy Kitei promised on July 9, having contacts more ordinarily placed mortals like me lack, that

"The [FDA/NIH] researchers have conducted additional experiments as requested by the reviewers, and their paper is expected to be published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences within weeks."

So I simply wait and see, peacefully also, and read Feferman if I am cool enough.

4. Yet one more genius

As you might have seen in the link Mindy Kitei has access to geniuses, and indeed dr. Alter seems a very capable man, who also has proved his scientific mettle. Unfortunately, not being a medical person at all, I don't know much more about it than is in Wikipedia (see the last link), but then fortunately I am a genius myself.

This is easily proved: Every human being knows that Johan Cruyff is a genius; every Dutchman knows that Harry Mulish is a genius (and the University of Amsterdam only has geniuses as professors); and besides in Holland all human beings are equivalent. So therefore, dear reader, I am one too.

Now - "if you're so smart, why ain't you rich" - this does not help me much, in my nation full of genius, but then I recalled an author I read much more than I did read Harry Mulish, although of course, being not Dutch - if you ain't Dutch, you ain't much - he can't possibly reach to the height or depth of the Mulishian more than divine intellect.

FWIW, here is the beginning of a rhyme by two of my favourite authors, though both not quite up to Dutchness - and for the more discerning, I added bolding:

The Tenth Satire of Juvenal,
IMITATED By Samuel Johnson

Let Observation with extensive View,
Survey Mankind, from China to Peru;
Remark each anxious Toil, each eager Strife,
And watch the busy Scenes of crouded Life;
Then say how Hope and Fear, Desire and Hate,
O'er spread with Snares the clouded Maze of Fate,
Where wav'ring Man, betray'd by vent'rous Pride,
To tread the dreary Paths without a Guide;
As treach'rous Phantoms in the Mist delude,
Shuns fancied Ills, or chases airy Good.
How rarely Reason guides the stubborn Choice,
Rules the bold Hand, or prompts the suppliant Voice,
How Nations sink, by darling Schemes oppres'd,
When Vengeance listens to the Fool's Request.
Fate wings with ev'ry Wish th' afflictive Dart,
Each Gift of Nature, and each Grace of Art,
With fatal Heat impetuous Courage glows,
With fatal Sweetness Elocution flows,
Impeachment stops the Speaker's pow'rful Breath,
And restless Fire precipitates on Death.

Not that there aren't more boldable bits... and the full text is under the last link, and it may do you some good, in case you can read English, which is an art many, yea most native English speakers still need to learn, just like the Dutch, incidentally, and other proud nation's proud inhabitants as well.

P.S. The last section can be seen as continueing yesterday's and earlier Nederlog, but it is true that apart from CBT and the Lying ProcessTM there is no cure for stupidity, alas:

What does the Lightning Process work for ?

"People using the Lightning Process™ have recovered from, or experienced significant improvement with the following issues and conditions

"ME, chronic fatigue syndrome, PVFS, adrenal fatigue
acute and chronic pain, back pain, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, migraine, injury
PMT, perimenopausal symptoms and menopause
clinical depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety and panic attacks, OCD and PTSD
low self-esteem, confidence issues
hay fever, asthma and allergies
candida, interstitial cystitis, urinary infections, bladder and bowel problems
IBS, coeliac disease, crohns disease, food intolerances and allergies
blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmia, type 2 diabetes, restless leg syndrome, hyper / hypo thyroidism
insomnia and sleep disorders
autistic spectrum disorder, dyspraxia, ADHD
lymes disease, glandular fever, epstein barr virus
weight and food issues, anorexia and eating disorders
multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, parkinsonian tremor, motor neurone disease"

Surely, the Lying ProcessTMpending cures everything but inflammation of the gullibility-glands, evidence-based science has proved. Also, it does not improve the IQ, but then it works miracles by EQ-NLP-ing. (And who needs an IQ?)

It is a variant of the Lourdes ProcessTMpending except that it is more savvy financially: Make the dumboes sign a contract in which they admit that they are responsible for any failure of a miracle (bad vibes, too much internet, negativeness, whatever...) and hey presto, a kind QC will make you pay your bills due for courses and refute your complaints about the process by nicely telling you it's your very own fault (wimpiness, negativeness, arrogance, analytic nature, somatoforming, inappropriate language, whatevere...) that keeps and makes you ill.

So clever! So remunerative! So helpful! So curative!

P.P.S. It may be I have to stop Nederlog for a while. The reason is that I am physically not well at all, and it seems a heath-wave is coming, which is the type of weather I can't handle well. I don't know yet, but if there is no Nederlog, now you know the reason.

"Ah me! alas, pain, pain ever, forever!

No change, no pause, no hope! Yet I endure.
I ask the Earth, have not the mountains felt?
I ask yon Heaven, the all-beholding Sun,
Has it not seen? The Sea, in storm or calm,
Heaven's ever-changing Shadow, spread below,
Have its deaf waves not heard my agony?
Ah me! alas, pain, pain ever, forever!
